Experts from three companies

– SCHAUMANN, ISF Schaumann Forschung and Lactosan – combined their knowledge in the fields of animal nutrition, feed preservation and lactic acid bacteria. This collaboration led to the development of innovative biological silage inoculants that are tailored to different silage situations and get the most out of silage. True to the motto: A specialist for every crop!

Bonsilage was launched on the market in 2000. The initial two variants – Bonsilage and Bonsilage PLUS – already covered a wide range of applications and were awarded a prize by the DLG (German Agricultural Society). The continuous research work paid off again in 2003, as specialised products for Maize and CCM were now also available. The introduction of bonsilage FORTE in 2005 marked another milestone. bonsilage

ORTE– the first biological silage inoculant that actively inhibits the growth of clostridia and is therefore particularly suitable for wet and difficult-to-ferment silage. In 2017, bonsilage set a new standard with the development of bonsilage SPEED. The use of the lactic acid bacteria strain Lactobacillus diolivorans made it possible to feed energy-rich silage with very good aerobic stability after just two weeks. Six bonsilage products awarded the DLG quality seal confirm the excellent effectiveness of bonsilage silage additives.
